UPCOMING EVENTS: Africa Series

We are delighted to announce our Africa Series, a selection of lectures, movies, concerts and a book launch dedicated to this fascinating, beautiful, misunderstood and underappreciated continent with the hope of a cultural rapprochement.


Date TBA | Lecture: Peacemaking strategies in Africa
Sekou Koureissy-Conde, former Minister of the Interior of Guinea, will speak about traditional African peacemaking strategies and how these can be integrated into present-day international peacemaking efforts in conflict areas.


Date TBA | Lecture: Liberia and Civil War
Bisi Iderabdullah, director of Imani House, will give us her unique account of emigrating to Liberia, a portrait of the only female president in Africa, and an inside view of the civil war that is tearing the region apart.


Date TBA | Concert: Fula Flute
This New York-based West African ensemble's music integrates the tambin, the traditional Fulani flute of the Fouta Djalon highlands of Guinea, with other traditional West African Instruments.
